Makita is expanding the line of cordless outdoor power equipment to include the 36V (18V X2) LXT® 17” Residential Lawn Mower, Tool Only (XML05Z). With zero emissions, lower noise and reduced maintenance, the 36V (18V X2) LXT® Residential Lawn Mower is a welcome solution for efficient grass cutting.
It’s powered by two 18V LXT Batteries (sold separately). The 4-bay battery system holds 4 batteries for twice the run time, but without leaving the 18V battery platform. The Makita-built motor delivers up to 3,600 RPM for faster cutting. The compact 18” deck is ideal for detailed landscaping and the 17” cutting width provides optimal performance.
The mower has a single lever that quickly adjusts the cutting height (13/16” – 3”). A soft start provides smooth start-ups and longer gear life. Other features include ball bearings for a smoother drive, rubberized soft grip handle for comfort.
The lawn mower features Makita Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™). XPT™ is a protective seal inside the tool and is engineered for improved operation in harsh conditions by channeling water and dust from key internal components.

For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.
